Missionary Lachala Kemp was born the oldest of two girls and raised by a dedicated mother and grandmother in Buna, Texas. As a babe Missionary Kemp was reared in the Church Of God In Christ, and was a devoted member of the Welcome Tabernacle COGIC under the leadership of Superintendent Curtis E. Jones. Since a young child she has always been very active in the church, participating in the church choir, sunshine band, Sunday school, and YPWW. Missionary Kemp graduated from Buna High School and went on to attend Prairie View A&M University in Prairie View, Texas, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering. Missionary Kemp is currently employed by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), as an Environmental Engineer in the Air and Waste Management Division
Upon moving to Kansas City in April 2000, and after a short search for a bible believing and Holy Ghost filled ministry, Missionary Kemp joined the Fountain of Life Outreach Center COGIC under the very capable leadership of Superintendent Dr. Roy B. Marshall, Sr. As an active and faithful member of FOLOC; Missionary Kemp has held many positions at her local assembly, and is currently the Adult Sunday School teacher. In January 2010, Missionary Kemp was appointed by Bishop John Mark Johnson as the Sunday School Field Representative. Subsequently, in April 2014, she was appointed as the Sunday School President for Missouri Western 2nd Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction. Missionary Kemp is the first female to hold this position since the inception of the Jurisdiction.
Missionary Kemp is the wife of Anthony and the mother to two beautiful daughters, Sydnee and Sylae. Missionary Kemp is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
Missionary Lachala Kemp is a woman who truly loves the Lord and it is her desire that God’s perfect Will is manifested in her life.
